NATIONAL CADET CORPS [N.C.C]
The National Cadet Corps (NCC) is the youth wing of the Indian Armed Forces with its headquarters in New Delhi, India. It is open to school and college students on a voluntary basis as a Tri-Services Organization, comprising the Army, the Navy and the Air Foece engaged in developing the youth of the country into disciplined and patriotic citizens.
A unit of the NCC Army Wing has been functioning in this college since 2005. The unit is functioning under 9 Kerala Girls Battalion NCC, Calicut. Captain Dr. A.C. Meeradevi, Associate Professor and Head of Hindi Department, has been functioning as an NCC officer till 2022. After her retirement, Lt. Loosiya. KP, Assistant Professor Adoc, Department of Home Science, took over the duty. The strength of our unit is 106. The motto of NCC is ‘Unity and Discipline’. The NCC aims at developing character, comradeship, discipline, a secular outlook, the spirit of adventure, and ideals of selfless service amongst young citizens. Further, it aims at creating a pool of organized,trained,d and motivated youth with leadership qualities in all walks of lif, who will serve thenationn regardless of which career theychoose. .The Cadets are given basic military training in small arms and drill. The officers and cadets have no liability for active military service once they complete their course.

THE MAIN INCENTIVES THAT CAN BE BENEFITTED FOR NCC INCLUDE:
Academic Incentives: - By Govt. of Kerala Seat for Professional Courses: Engineering Course: 31; MBBS: 2; BHMS/BDS/AMS/BSc. Nursing: 02 each; B VSC: 01; B Pharma: 01; Polytechnic: 30.
Weightage of Mark-Plus Two/TTC = 10 marks, Degree = 15 marks, P.G. course = 5 marks each.
Note:'A','B','C certificate holders are eligible for additional weightage marks 3,5,& 5 respectively.
Grace Marks (Calicut University): For 75% in parades, 2% gracemarks in each semester: ‘Bcertificate 3%, ’Ccertificate 4%, TSC cadets 6%, RD cadets 7%.
Reservation of Post-for the postgraduate courses: 1 seat each for each subject at Sanskrit University, 1 seat each to eligible cadets for each course of arts, commerce, MBA,MBA and LLB at Cochin University.
Govt. of Kerala PSC reference in uniformed services of state. Bonus Mark: ‘A’ certificate -02, ’B’ certificate -03,C’ certificate 05. Scholarships: Rs. 6,000 per year to 760 cadets. Best cadets: Rs. 3500/- each; second best cadet: Rs. 2500/- each.
