KAHM Unity Women's College, affiliated with the University of Calicut, offers Ph.D. programs in English and Chemistry through its recognized research centres. The admission process for these programs is governed by the University of Calicut's regulations.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Educational Qualifications: Candidates should possess a Master's degree in the relevant field with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade from a recognized university. A relaxation of 5% marks is available for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer) and differently-abled categories.

Admission Procedure:

  1. Notification: The University of Calicut releases an official notification for Ph.D. admissions, detailing the application process, important dates, and other relevant information.
  2. Application Submission: Interested candidates must apply through the Centralized Admission Process (CAP) of the University of Calicut. The application form and guidelines are available on the university's official website.
  3. Entrance Examination: Applicants are required to appear for an entrance examination conducted by the university. The test assesses the candidate's subject knowledge and research aptitude.
  4. Interview: Shortlisted candidates from the entrance examination are invited for an interview at the respective research centers. The interview panel evaluates the candidate's research proposal and suitability for the program.
  5. Final Selection: Admission is granted based on the combined performance in the entrance examination and interview, subject to fulfilling all eligibility criteria.

Exemptions:

Candidates who have qualified for UGC-NET (including JRF)/UGC-CSIR NET (including JRF)/SLET/GATE or hold an M.Phil. degree (completed before 2023) are exempted from the entrance examination. However, they must still participate in the interview process.
