World Environment Day Observation

The NCC Army Wing observed World Environment Day on 5th June 2026 with the aim of creating environmental awareness among cadets and encouraging them to actively participate in nature conservation. Lt. Loosiya. KP, Associate NCC Officer, welcomed the gathering. As part of the observance, Principal Prof. (Dr.) Muhammed Basheer Ummathur planted a mango sapling near the college hostel and addressed the cadets, emphasizing the importance of environmental protection, conservation of natural resources, and sustainable living for a greener future. An Eco Walk, “Exploring Our Green Campus,” was organized within the campus to familiarize cadets with the rich plant diversity and the importance of preserving a green and healthy environment.
The Eco Walk was guided by Ms. Sudheesha. K, Assistant Professor (Adhoc), PG and Research Department of Botany, who introduced the participants to various plant species present on the campus and explained their scientific classification, medicinal uses, ecological significance, and unique characteristics. She also highlighted the role of plants in maintaining biodiversity and ecological balance. A total of 21 NCC cadets participated in the Eco Walk. In addition, 67 second- and third-year NCC cadets planted trees in their home surroundings, demonstrating their commitment to environmental conservation and sustainable living. The activities enhanced the cadets’ understanding of biodiversity, environmental sustainability, and the importance of protecting nature for future generations.
