LEAD 2025 - Faculty Training Programme: Academic Writing - From Concept to Publication 

As part of the Five-day Faculty Training Programme – LEAD 2025, a session on 'Academic Writing: From Concept to Publication' was organized on 21st October 2025 at Aryabhata Hall by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) in association with the Shihab Thangal Library and Information Centre, KAHM Unity Women’s College, Manjeri. The session aimed to enhance the research and publication skills of faculty members by providing practical insights into academic writing and scholarly communication.The program began with a warm welcome address by Mr. Yunus T. P., UGC Librarian, followed by the presidential address by Mr. Muhammed Abdul Hakeem C., IQAC Coordinator. The session was formally inaugurated by Prof. (Dr.) Muhammed Basheer Ummathur, Principal of the college, who highlighted the importance of research and quality publications in higher education institutions.
The resource person for the session, Dr. Sainul Abideen P., Deputy Librarian at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Thiruvananthapuram, delivered an engaging and informative presentation on various aspects of academic writing, including idea formulation, manuscript preparation, journal selection, and publication ethics. The interactive Q&A session that followed provided participants an opportunity to clarify doubts and gain valuable guidance. The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Faseela P., Assistant Professor, Department of Botany.
