Workshop on “Effective Marketing Strategies for Start-ups”

The Unity Commerce Alumnae Association (UNICOSA), Department of Commerce, in collaboration with the Institution Innovation Council (IIC) of KAHM Unity Women’s College, Manjeri, organized a workshop on “Effective Marketing Strategies for Start-ups” on 21st February 2026 at 11.00 a.m. via Google Meet. The programme aimed to equip students and aspiring entrepreneurs with practical insights into modern marketing techniques essential for launching and sustaining start-ups in a competitive business environment.The session commenced with a warm welcome address delivered by Mrs. Haseena Jasmine C K, Programme Coordinator. The Presidential cum Inaugural Address was delivered by Ms. Fathima Shajitha T K, Head of the Department and Associate Professor of Commerce, who officially inaugurated the programme. In her address, she underscored the growing relevance of innovative and digital marketing strategies for start-ups, especially in today’s dynamic economic landscape.The resource person for the session, Ms. Jahna Parveen V M, Founder of Rahmo Clothing and an alumna of the 2016–2019 B.Com Co-operation batch, shared her entrepreneurial journey and provided valuable insights into effective marketing strategies. She discussed key aspects such as identifying target audiences, leveraging social media platforms, branding, customer engagement, and cost-effective promotional techniques. Her real-life experiences and practical examples made the session highly engaging and informative for the participants.The workshop concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks proposed by Ms. Henna Parvin C, who expressed gratitude to the management, resource person, faculty members, and participants for making the programme a grand success. Overall, the workshop was highly beneficial, providing students with a deeper understanding of contemporary marketing strategies and inspiring them to explore entrepreneurial opportunities with confidence and creativity.
