Human Rights and Legal Awareness Club

The Human Rights and Legal Awareness Club basically intents to sensitize students of the human rights and entitlements guaranteed by the constitution and various laws in the country. The slogan of the club is “right living through human rights”. Lack of awareness about the basic legal and civil liberties, human rights, constituitional directives that protect the dignity, liberty and freedom of people manifests itself in the society in the form child labour, human trafficking, etc. that threatens the safety of all. The club not only boosts legal literacy and awareness about human rights but also helps in strengthening the capacity of youth to effectively advocate for human rights and access to Justice for vulnerable population. The club proposes to organize awareness classes and arrange visit to the nearby community centers like Old age homes, Palliative care units etc., and ecologically sensitive places.
