Report on the Debate Competition Related to Human Rights Day:
The Human Rights and Legal Awareness Club of KAHM Unity Women’s College, Manjeri organized a Debate Competition on 10th December 2025, in connection with Human Rights Day. The event was conducted at the Wisdom Circle at 10:45 am, focusing on the topic “LGBTQ+ Acceptance: Essential for a Progressive Society.” The programme aimed to promote awareness on equality, dignity, and the importance of accepting diverse identities in alignment with the principles of Human Rights Day. Students actively participated and presented strong arguments, making the session intellectually engaging and socially meaningful.
At the end of the competition, the winners were announced and appreciated for their outstanding performances. Afeeha Sulthana C K (Fourth Semester BA History) and Arsha Thasni T (Fourth Semester B.Sc. Computer Science) emerged as the winners. The event was coordinated by Rahiya Thasneem P P, Assistant Professor (Adhoc), Department of Commerce along with student coordinator Liya KK of Second Year B.Com CA. The programme successfully highlighted the significance of human rights and encouraged students to uphold values of equality and inclusiveness in society.
