Fearful Symmetry: Blakean Philosophy in Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight

Mrs. Sahira, a former English Department student, gave the first semester postgraduate students an insightful talk titled "Fearful Symmetry: Blakean Philosophy in Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight" on 1-10-2024  as part of the Alumnae Lecture Series. In her talk, Mrs. Sahira examined the complex relationships between the themes in Christopher Nolan's film The Dark Knight and the philosophical thoughts of William Blake. She offered a thorough examination of the ways in which the film's characters and plot reflect Blake's ideas of morality, dualism, and existential struggle. The lesson was intriguing and educational, giving the students a better grasp of how modern film and classic literature interact. It expanded their scholarly perspectives and demonstrated the value of literary analysis in contemporary narrative. The students responded favorably to the talk and valued the chance to learn from a successful alumna.
