College Level Competition of“Chief Minister’s Mega Quiz 2026”

The College Level Competition of the “Chief Minister’s Mega Quiz 2026”, jointly organized by the Information & Public Relations Department and the Department of Higher Education, Government of Kerala, was successfully conducted at K.A.H.M. Unity Women’s College, Manjeri.
As per the guidelines of the competition, four students selected from the college level would represent the institution at the District Level Competition, and subsequently, winners at the State Level Grand Finale would be awarded cash prizes of ₹3,00,000 (First Prize), ₹2,00,000 (Second Prize), and ₹1,00,000 (Third Prize) along with mementos and certificates.
The college level quiz was organized for the benefit of students with the objective of enhancing their awareness of Kerala’s development journey and its contemporary socio-economic framework.
The topic of the competition was:
“Kerala Model – Its Developmental History and the Present Scenario.”
The programme was held on 12 January 2026 at 10.30 AM in B 306 (1st B.Sc. Chemistry Classroom), Asima Chatterjee Hall, K.A.H.M. Unity Women’s College, Manjeri. Students from different departments participated actively and displayed keen academic interest.
After a competitive and engaging quiz session, the following students emerged as winners and were selected to represent the college at the District Level of the “Chief Minister’s Mega Quiz 2026”:
First Prize:

Second Prize:
Avani Kishor, Second Semester B.A. English
Third Prize:
Fathima Sultana, Fourth Semester B.Sc. Mathematics
Fourth Prize:
Nidha K, Fourth Semester B.Sc. Mathematics
The competition served as an effective academic platform for deepening students’ understanding of the Kerala Model of development, its historical foundations, and its present relevance. The programme also encouraged critical thinking, teamwork, and awareness of public policy and governance.
The event was coordinated under the guidance of principal Professor (Dr.) Muhammed Basheer Ummathur, Dr. Hikmathulla V., Nodal Officer, and was effectively organized with the support and leadership of Mr. Nithin A.
