Korambayil Ahmad Haji Memorial Unity Women’s College, Manjeri, has been awarded the prestigious ‘A’ grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). In its fourth cycle of accreditation, the college secured a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.20.
Established in 1991 as the first women’s college in Malappuram district, Unity College earned this recognition based on its consistent performance in key areas including teaching quality, academic outcomes, infrastructure, social responsibility, and research initiatives.
The NAAC Peer Team conducted a two-day virtual assessment of the college in accordance with the revised guidelines of the University Grants Commission (UGC). The grading was finalised after a comprehensive evaluation of the institution’s progress over the past five years.
With this accreditation, the college—previously graded B++—has now advanced to the ‘A’ category. The management considers this achievement a significant milestone in the institution’s academic journey.
College Manager O. Abdul Ali, Principal Prof. (Dr.) Muhammad Basheer Ummathur, and NAAC Coordinator Dr. Shahinamol A.K. stated that the ‘A’ grade stands as a testament to the college’s academic excellence and social commitment. They also acknowledged the support and leadership of College President Panakkad Syed Munavvar Ali Shihab Thangal in realising this accomplishment.
