SNEHABHAVANAM 3 KEY-HANDING OVER CEREMONY (29.08.2024) The key-handing over ceremony of the newly constructed SNEHABHAVANAM 3, a Home for a homeless student of KAHM Unity Women’s College, Manjeri, was successfully held on 29.08.2024 in the CH college Auditorium. The initiative, a heartwarming gesture driven by the compassion and generosity of the student community, aimed to provide a secure and stable home for one of their own. The project was a collaborative effort involving students, faculty, and staff, who united to raise funds and volunteer in various capacities. The event began with a welcome address by the principal Prof.(Dr.) Muhammed Basheer Ummathur, who praised the students for their commitment and highlighted the importance of community service and empathy in building a supportive college environment. Special mention was made of the students’ relentless efforts in fundraising, and the free services provided by the construction team. The secretary, adv. UA Latheef, presided over the function, by emphasizing that this project reflects the values that the college strives to instill in its students—kindness, social responsibility, and the spirit of giving back. The key-handing over ceremony was graced by an inspiring inauguration speech delivered by the college president Sayyid Munavvar Ali Shihab Thangal. The President’s speech set the tone for the event, highlighting the importance of unity, compassion, and community action in addressing the needs of students. And the President commended the entire college community, particularly the students, for their dedication to this project. The project coordinator, Rahib B., department of computer science, presented the report of the Snehabhavan 3, by acknowledging the vital role of the students, faculty and staff for rising the funds, businessmen who provided the gifts, and the free services of the construction team and volunteers who brought the vision to life. Mr. Kannian Muhammadali, office staff, provided a detailed account of the expenditures incurred in the construction of the home. Special recognition was given to the construction team – Mr. Shafeeque Ali, building architect (Managing Director, VM Builders, Pvt. Ltd., Manjeri), Mr. Sainul Habid Kurikkal P. Project Supervisor,(Civil Engineer, Z Design Studio, Manjeri), Mr. Muralikrishnan K(Babu), (PM Electrical Manjeri), Mr. Said KK, Plumber(United Plumbers, Manjeri) and Mr. Silsil M, Site Engineer (VM Builders, Pvt. Ltd., Manjeri),for their hands-on involvement, which ensured the timely and quality completion of the house. Manager O. Abdul Ali, Dr. AK Shahina Mol(IQAC Coordinator), T Ali(PTA Joint Secretary) and Adv. Prema Rajeev (Councillor, ward 33) spoke too. And the declaration of the launching of the “Home for the Homeless” project called Snehabhavanam 4 was also held. Office staff representative, Adham Thanari cast vote of thanks.
