One Day Trekking to Wayanad (NCC)
The NCC Army Wing of KAHM Unity Women’s College, Manjeri, conducted a trekking to Wayanad on December 2, 2023. The aim of trekking was ‘to develop spirit of adventure, leadership, stamina, endurance, self confidence, team spirit as well as spirit-de-corps’ and also to imbibe environmental awareness and concern, inculcate respect for local customs, culture and history amongst the NCC cadets. The journey commenced in the early morning as cadets gathered at the college. As the morning sun illuminated the landscape, cadets reached Kurmbalakotta Hill. It rises to 991 m above sea level. Then the cadets spent the rest of the day at Banasura Dam and Karappuzha Dam. The trek not only tested their physical endurance but also fostered teamwork and leadership skills as they faced various obstacles together. Overall, the NCC trek was a memorable adventure that left a lasting impact on their personal and collective growth. A total of 83 cadets and four staffs participated in the trek. Associate NCC Officer, Lt. Loosiya KP, and SUO Ayisha Risni K (6th Sem BSc Psychology) coordinated the trekking.
