Department of Psychology Hosts Online Workshop on “Foundations of Research”
The Department of Psychology organized an online workshop titled "Foundations of Research" on Friday, August 1, 2025, from 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM via Google Meet. The session was led by Afla Hanna, an alumna of the department and a postgraduate student of M.Sc Applied Psychology at Pondicherry University. The objective of the workshop was to introduce students to the fundamental aspects of psychological research, including research design, literature review, hypothesis formulation, and ethical considerations. Ms. Afla shared her academic journey and provided practical insights into conducting effective research. Her connection as a former student of the department added a personal and motivational touch to the session. The workshop was highly interactive, with students actively participating and clarifying their doubts during the Q&A segment. It was coordinated by Ms. Hamidha K.P., Assistant Professor, along with the student coordinator, Fathima Swohba of the 5th semester B.Sc Psychology. The session proved to be informative and inspiring, laying a strong foundation for students interested in pursuing research in psychology.
