PTA Meeting

The Department of Psychology at KAHM Unity Women's College conducted a parents meeting for the 2nd semester psychology students on 13th February 2025. The session aimed to update parents on their children's academic progress, discuss exam-related matters, and provide guidance on improving student performance.
The meeting commenced with a welcome speech by Dr. Fathima Shirin K.A., Head of the Department of Psychology. She provided an overview of the department's functioning, its various academic and extracurricular programs, and general guidelines regarding examinations. Her address highlighted the department’s commitment to student development and academic excellence.
Following this, Ms. Thasneem Rahmathulla, the 2nd semester tutor, distributed the progress report cards to the parents. She also presented a detailed analysis of the students' performance in the 1st semester internal and university examinations, including the pass percentage and overall academic trends. Specific areas of improvement were identified, and strategies were suggested to address students' weaknesses.
A significant portion of the meeting was dedicated to discussing how parents can support their children in enhancing their academic performance. Parents were advised on effective study techniques, time management skills, and ways to create a conducive learning environment at home. General academic and behavioral concerns were also addressed.
The parents actively participated in the discussion, engaging enthusiastically and sharing their concerns. Their feedback and queries were acknowledged, furthering a collaborative effort between the faculty and parents to ensure the students' academic success.
