Basics of Psychotherapy

As part of the Alumni Lecture Series, the Department of Psychology organized an insightful session on "Basics of Psychotherapy" on January 11, 2025 (Saturday) at 7 PM via Google Meet. The resource person for the session was Ms. Nihala Jabin P.T., an alumna from the 2019–2022 batch, who is currently working as a psychologist at the Trust Centre for Mindful Living.
The event was hosted by Ms. Naishana K, a first-year B.Sc. Psychology student and the student coordinator. Ms. Thasneem Rahmathulla, the faculty coordinator, delivered the introductory speech.
During the session, Ms. Nihala introduced students to the fundamentals of psychotherapy, explaining its significance in understanding and addressing mental health issues. She used real-life examples and cases from her professional experience to make the concepts relatable and engaging. Her practical approach helped students grasp the core principles of various therapeutic techniques.
The session provided valuable insights into the field of psychotherapy, making it highly beneficial for the participants. Students appreciated the opportunity to learn from an experienced alumna and gain a clearer understanding of therapeutic practices.
