"Beyond labels"-A transgender awareness session
The Department of Psychology organized a transformative transgender awareness session, "Beyond Labels," on 16th January 2024 in collaboration with the Social Justice Department, Government of Kerala, and PG Department of Psychology, Mankada Government College. The session, featuring distinguished speaker Hina Haneefa, India's first transgender NCC cadet, provided profound insights and personal experiences that effectively challenged stereotypes and raised an understanding of the challenges faced by the transgender community. The collaborative efforts of the college faculty and departments were crucial in creating an inclusive environment, leaving a lasting impact on the audience and inspiring students to be compassionate allies for transgender individuals.
