NATIONAL STATISTICS DAY OBSERVED AT KAHM UNITY WOMEN'S COLLEGE (Autonomous)
The Department of Mathematics, in association with the Mathematics and Statistics Club, KAHM Unity Women's College(Autonomous), Manjeri, observed Statistics Day on 30 June 2026 at Maryam Mirzakhani Hall under the theme "Empowering Decision through Data."
The programme was inaugurated by Prof. (Dr.) Muhammed Basheer Ummathur. Dr. Abdul Rof V delivered the Presidential Address, and the keynote address was delivered by Mr. Usman Shereef Koori, Joint Director (Retd.), Department of Economics and Statistics. In his keynote address, he highlighted the vital role of statistics and data-driven decision-making in education, research, governance, and industry.
As part of the celebration, a Quiz Competition and a Power BI Presentation and Career Opportunity Orientation were conducted, providing students with valuable exposure to modern data analytics tools and emerging career opportunities in the field of data science and analytics.
Ms. Jezeera P., Programme Coordinator, welcomed the gathering. Ms. Ashitha P.A, Coordinator of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics Club, highlighted the significance of the celebration and the activities organized as part of Statistics Day. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Ms. Nashva, Student Coordinator. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members, making the celebration both informative and inspiring.
