Department of Mathematics

OVERVIEW

The Department of Mathematics K.A.H.M Unity Women’s College was established in the academic year 1993-94, initially offering mathematics as a subsidiary subject under the B.Sc. Chemistry and B.Sc. Computer Science programs. Over time, the department has expanded and strengthened its academic offerings to meet the evolving needs of the field and its students.

In 2014-15, the department introduced the B.Sc. Mathematics core course, providing students with a more focused and comprehensive study of mathematics. This marked a significant milestone in the department’s growth and commitment to fostering mathematical education.

In 2024-25, in line with the new Calicut University FYUG 2024 Regulations, the department proudly launched the BSc Honours Mathematics Programme. This new initiative offers an enhanced curriculum designed to equip students with in-depth knowledge and skills in mathematics, preparing them for advanced studies or professional careers in various fields such as data science, engineering, finance, and research.

The Department of Mathematics continues to evolve, offering a range of academic opportunities for students interested in pursuing a rigorous and rewarding mathematical education.
