Five-Day Skill Development Workshop on AI & Data Science for Girls Students

IEDC & Department of Mathematics, in collaboration with MathsLab Skill Realm Cochin, successfully organized a five-day skill development workshop on AI & Data Science from 16th to 20th April 2025. The workshop was exclusively designed for girl students, with 47 BSc Mathematics students from various colleges participating in the event.

The inaugural session of the workshop was held on 16th April 2025, with Prof.(Dr). Muhammed Basheer Ummathur as the chief guest. The ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, including College Manager Er. O Abdul Ali, IEDC coordinator Dr. Bajeel PN, and Head of the Department of Mathematics Dr. Abdul Rof V.

The workshop was followed by a three-month program aligned with the prescribed curriculum of the BSc Honours FYUG course, providing participants with a comprehensive learning experience.

The valedictory session, held on 20th April 2025, was inaugurated by Adv. UA Latheef MLA. The event marked the successful completion of the five-day workshop, and the participants were expected to gain valuable skills and knowledge in AI & Data Science.

The workshop aimed to empower girl students with skills in AI & Data Science, and the collaboration between the Department of Mathematics and MathsLab Skill Realm Cochin made it possible to provide a comprehensive learning experience to the participants. The event was a significant step towards promoting women's empowerment in STEM fields.
