Nature Camp at Kuruva

The Department of Mathematics, along with the Mathematics and Statistics Club and the NGO Good Earth Organization, organized a two-day nature camp at Mananthavadi, Wayanad, on October 22nd and 23rd, 2023. The camp aimed to foster a deeper understanding of nature, wildlife, and environmental conservation among participants.

Inaugurated by Mr. Tharanath, Beat Forest Officer, South Wayanad, and led by experts Mr. Hamid Ali, Environmentalist, and Mr. Shaji, Deputy Range Officer, the camp featured activities such as:

  • Kuruva Dweep Trekking
  • Sky Watch & Bird Watch
  • Visit to Tribe Settlements
  • Invasive Plant Removal & Plastic Cleanup
  • Field Visits to Study Trees

A total of 37 BSc Mathematics students participated, accompanied by faculty members Mr. Abdul Rof V, Ms. Ashitha PA, and Ms. Farsana M. The camp provided a valuable opportunity for students to engage with the environment and promote conservation awareness.
