Screening of “ Oppenheimer: Lokangalude Anthakan”
As part of the 1st Semester B.Sc. (FYUGP) syllabus, the Department of Malayalam, KAHM Unity Women’s College, Manjeri, organized a special programme on 28 October 2025 at the Digital Studio Room. The event featured the screening of “ Oppenheimer: Lokangalude Anthakan” — Episode 151 of the popular Asianet series “ Vallathoru Kadha”, presented by Babu Ramachandran.
The screening was highly thought-provoking and greatly enhanced the students’ understanding of the prescribed lesson. Babu Ramachandran’s powerful and engaging presentation style was particularly commendable.
Following the screening, Asst. Professor Arifa Beegum, Department of Malayalam, delivered an insightful session explaining the life of Oppenheimer and the devastating impacts of war. Her presentation helped students connect the content of the video with broader social and moral perspectives.
The programme provided valuable insights into the origin of nuclear weapons, Oppenheimer’s involvement in the field of nuclear physics, and his remarkable contributions to the scientific community. Moreover, it inspired deep reflection among students on the catastrophic consequences of war and evoked a collective hope that such destruction should never recur.
