Bhasheer Day Celebrated

 

Department of Malayalam at KAHM Unity Women’s College, Manjeri, organized July 5 Basheer Day on July 7, 2025  in memory of the renowned Malayalam writer Vaikom Muhammad Basheer.

 

As part of the celebration, the documentary “Basheer: The Man” and the telefilm “Oru Manushyan” were screened, providing students with insight into the life and works of the iconic writer. A quiz competition related to Basheer’s literature also witnessed active participation from students.

 

Malayalam faculty member Arifa Beegum delivered an insightful talk highlighting Basheer’s unique personality and his literary contributions. The quiz was effectively coordinated by Nitha Nasreen, a third-semester English student.

 

Fathima Noor(3 sem history),Murshida(3 sem english and Mufeeda(3sem english) secured the first, second, and third prizes respectively in the quiz competition. The celebration proved to be an enriching experience, helping students gain a deeper understanding of Basheer’s cultural and literary significance.
