Reading Day Celebration – 2025
Unity Women’s College, Manjeri
Organized by the Department of Malayalam* 

On June 19, 2025, Unity Women’s College, Manjeri observed Reading Day with great enthusiasm under the Department of Malayalam. The celebration was marked by a variety of literary.

The event commenced with an inaugural address by Ms. Arifa Beegum, faculty of the Malayalam Department, who spoke eloquently on the importance of reading in shaping informed and thoughtful individuals. Following this, Daniya, a student from the Computer Science Department, shared her insightful thoughts on how reading plays a vital role in personal and intellectual growth, especially for the younger generation.
"Reading Week will be observed from June 19 to 25, with a range of associated activities scheduled to mark the occasion."

Competitions held as part of the celebration included:
Essay Writing
Drawing
Quiz Competition
Book Review Presentation

Among these, the quiz competition turned out to be the highlight, featuring a spirited contest among the participants. The winners were:

1st Prize: Majitha nasrin ( 3sem chemistry)

2nd Prize: Husna(3 sem Maths)

3rd Prize: Rinsila (3sem chemistry& Fathima Nida( maths)

The program successfully conveyed the message that reading is not just a habit, but a gateway to dreams, imagination, and knowledge.
