Visit to Indian Institute of Public Health (IIPH-PHFI)

On 11 February 2026, 35 students and staff members from the PG Department of Home Science visited the Indian Institute of Public Health (IIPH), which was established under the Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) in New Delhi. PHFI is an autonomous educational and research organization that actively works on community-based research to improve the health of the people.The main aim of the visit was to gain direct knowledge and practical understanding of the functioning and services of this prestigious national institute working in the field of community health. During the visit, Dr. Jyothi Sharma, Professor, and Ms. Thanuja Bandheri, Senior Manager at IIPH, provided an orientation on the activities and research carried out under PHFI.Information was also given about the various e-learning programmes, certification courses, and short-term courses offered by PHFI to train and upgrade the skills of academicians in community nutrition.The institutional visit helped students develop a better understanding of PHFI and learn about possible future career opportunities. It also motivated students to use their knowledge and skills for the improvement of public health nutrition.
