"A Talk on Financial Literacy"
The PG Department of Home Science, in association with the Home Science Club, organized an Association Programme titled “A Talk on Financial Literacy” on 27th November 2025 at 2:50 PM in Room B105.
The session was led by Mrs. Farseena Jabeen K, Assistant Professor (Adhoc), Department of Commerce. The programme aimed to provide students with essential knowledge on financial literacy, including understanding budgeting, saving, smart spending, managing expenses, and the importance of financial planning for personal stability.
The session highlighted the value of developing financial responsibility among students and emphasized practical strategies for managing money effectively. The resource person explained the concepts using relatable examples and encouraged students to adopt mindful financial habits.
The programme was coordinated by Mrs. Farsana Shirin K (Assistant Professor, Adhoc, Department of Home Science) and student coordinator Ms. Shana A K (4th Sem B.Sc FCS). Their efforts contributed to the smooth and successful conduct of the session.
The event witnessed active participation from students, who engaged in the discussion and shared their perspectives. The talk helped enhance their awareness of managing finances wisely and preparing for future financial independence.
