The PG Department of Home Science organized UGC NET Coaching for PG students from 13th October 2025 onwards with the aim of preparing students for the UGC NET examination in Home Science and enhancing their conceptual understanding, analytical ability, and research aptitude. The main objective of the programme was to provide systematic guidance and comprehensive coverage of the UGC NET syllabus to help postgraduate students qualify for the examination and pursue advanced academic and research careers. The coaching sessions were conducted on a weekly basis, covering the entire syllabus, and included topic-wise lectures, test papers, and doubt-clearing sessions handled by the faculty members of the department. The third and first semester MSc Home Science (Nutrition & Dietetics) students were the participants of the programme.
The sessions focused on both Paper I (Teaching and Research Aptitude) and Paper II (Home Science), in line with the latest UGC NET structure, which now also includes eligibility for Ph.D. admission in addition to Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Assistant Professorship. The programme was coordinated by Lt. Loosiya K. P., Assistant Professor (Adhoc), and Ms. Shifa Rinshi, student coordinator (III Sem MSc Home Science - Nutrition & Dietetics). The coaching provided opportunities for interactive learning and regular assessments, enabling students to strengthen their subject knowledge, improve their exam preparedness, and build confidence to qualify for the UGC NET, thereby enhancing their prospects for Ph.D. admission, research opportunities, and academic careers.
