Alumni Talk Series 2025 - 2 ‘Don’t Miss a Beat’ World Heart Day

As part of the observation of World Heart Day, the PG Department of Home Science organized Alumni Talk Series 2025 - 2 on 30th September 2025 via Google Meet at 7:30 pm. The aim of the talk was to create awareness about heart health and provide an opportunity for students to interact with a prominent alumnus of the department.
The session commenced with a welcome address by Dr. N V Fatimathu Zuhara, Assistant Professor and Head, PG Department of Home Science, highlighting the significance of observing World Heart Day and the importance of heart health. The resource person, Ms. Rashida Banu PP, an alumna of BSc FCS (2015-18 Batch) and MSc Home Science - Nutrition & Dietetics (2021-23 Batch), delivered an informative talk on the theme ‘Don’t Miss a Beat’. She discussed various types of cardiovascular diseases, symptoms, causes, diagnosis, dietary guidelines, lifestyle changes, and preventive measures. After the talk, she cleared the doubts of students.
A total of 70 UG and PG students along with other faculty members of the department actively participated in the session. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by faculty coordinator Lt. Loosiya KP, Assistant Professor (Adhoc), and was well coordinated by the student coordinator Ms. Nuha Kunhi Mohamed (I Sem MSc Home Science - Nutrition & Dietetics.
The session provided valuable insights to the students on the importance of heart health and preventive measures, reinforcing the need of healthier lifestyle.
