NATIONAL NUTRITION MONTH |POSHAN MAAH CELEBRATION FLAMELESS FUSION COOKING COMPETITION FOR STAFF
The PG Department of Home Science, KAHM Unity Women’s College, Manjeri, organized a cooking competition for staff entitled “Flameless Fusion” on September 25, 2025, as part of National Nutrition Month celebration. The event, held in the Nutrition Lab from 12:15 PM to 2:00 PM, challenged the participants to prepare a balanced breakfast for an adult woman within one hour. Dishes were evaluated based on creativity, presentation, and nutritional value, adding a unique blend of innovation and health awareness to the competition.
The contest witnessed enthusiastic participation from staff members across departments and college office. Ms. Reena C.M., Assistant Professor in the Department of English, secured the first prize, while the second prize was bagged by Mr. Muhammed Jamsheer M., Lab Assistant in the Department of Botany. The third prize was jointly shared by Ms. Shadhiya, Lab Assistant in the Department of Computer Science, and Ms. Zulaikha M., Head Accountant. Consolation prizes were presented to Dr. Shiji K.P., Assistant Professor in the Department of History, and Ms. Maimoona K.P., Lab Assistant in the Department of Home Science.
The competition created an awareness about the importance of planning a nutritious breakfast while encouraging innovative approaches like flameless cooking.
