2025-26 Alumni Talk Series - 1 The Future of Home Home science: Opportunities and Challenges
The PG Department of Home Science organised the 2025-26 Alumni Talk Series - 1 on the topic ‘The Future of Home Science: Opportunities and Challenges’ on 31 July 2025 at 8:00 pm through Google Meet. The aim of the Alumni Talk Series was to provide an opportunity to students to interact with prominent alumni of the department and gain insights into various fields related to Home Science.
The session started with a welcome address by Dr. N.V. Fatimathu Zuhara, Assistant Professor and Head, PG Department of Home Science. The resource person was Ms. Azra Nasreen. V, Alumna of BSc FCS (2011-14), ICDS Supervisor, ICDS Kuttippuram, Women and Child Dept., Govt. of Kerala and Research Scholar, Dept. of Home Science and Centre for Research, St. Teresa’s College, Kochi.
She shared the scope of Home Science, it's challenges and career possibilities in various fields. She shared her journey from a graduate student to a scholar and ICDS Supervisor, delivering a motivational and inspirational talk to crack competitive exams.
A total of 60 students and all department faculties participated in the session. The session was followed by the interaction with students and ended with a vote of thanks by the faculty coordinator Lt. Loosiya. KP, Assistant Professor (Adhoc), PG Department of Home Science.
