Cervical Cancer Awareness

            PG Department of Home Science, organized a talk on “Cervical Cancer Awareness" on 05th February 2025, as a part of Association Inauguration. This event aimed to highlight the critical importance of early detection and prevention of cervical cancer, one of the most common types of cancer affecting women globally.
            Dr.Annie Ninan, Associate Professor and Head, welcomed participants. She highlighted the challenges faced by individuals diagnosed with cancer, as well as the need for awareness and education on cervical cancer. The Principal address was delivered by Prof. Dr. Muhammed Basheer Ummathur, the Principal of KAHM Unity Women’s College, who focused on the significant issue of cancer. The inauguration ceremony was graced by the presenc of Dr. Hiba Hashim B H (MBBS, DNB & FMAS Specialist) renowned Obstetrician and Gynecologist from Aster Mother Hospital Areekode. In her insightful presentation she covered risk factors, symptoms, treatment and preventive methods of cervical cancer. UG and PG students and faculty members actively participated. The interaction with the experts helped to clarify the doubts and reaffirm the part of prevention and early detection in fighting cancer. MS.
