Alumni Talk Series - 4 on "Relevance of Nutrition in ICDS"

The PG Department of Home Science organized Alumni Talk Series - 4 on "Relevance of Nutrition in ICDS" on 27th January 2025, via Google Meet. The aim of the programme was to create awareness about the role of nutrition in Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) and its significance in the overall development of children. The objective was to educate students about opportunities in ICDS, the role of nutrition in ICDS, and provide a platform for interaction with alumni experts.
Dr. Annie Ninan, Associate Professor and Head, welcomed the participants. The programme featured an insightful presentation by Ms. Hasna. K, ICDS Supervisor, Tirur Additional and Alumna (BSc FCS 2005-08), covering various aspects of ICDS, including exam preparation, working areas, projects and the relevance of nutrition. She also highlighted how studying Home Science helped her become an ICDS supervisor. 
UG and PG students and faculty members actively participated in the discussion, clearing their doubts.
The session enhanced students’ knowledge and understanding of ICDS and its significance in promoting Child Development. 
Faculty Coordinator Lt. Loosiya K.P, Assistant Professor Adhoc, extended the vote of thanks. Ms. Fathima Dilraz. KC (II Sem MSc. Home Science - Nutrition & Dietetics), student coordinator, efficiently moderated the programme.
