Breast Cancer Awareness

PG Department of Home Science, organized a talk on “Breast Cancer Awareness" on 17th October 2024, as a part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The event aimed to educate attendees about the importance of awareness, empower individuals with knowledge and promote a supportive community for those affected by cancer. 
The inauguration ceremony was graced by Prof. (Dr.) Muhammed Basheer Ummathur, the Principal of KAHM Unity Women’s College, who delivered the inaugural address and as a former chemistry lecturer he summarized how free radicals cause cancer. Dr.Annie Ninan, Associate Professor and Head, welcomed participants. Dr. Ramiza Ansar, Assistant Professor Dept. of Community Medicine, Govt. Medical College Manjeri, delivered an insightful presentation covering risk factors, symptoms, self-examination, treatment and nutritional management of breast cancer. UG and PG students and faculty members actively participated. Ms.Dilsha P(3rd sem.BSc FCS) Student Coordinator, extended the vote of thanks, while Ms.Farseena Sheril (V Sem BSc FCS), efficiently moderated the programme.
