International Yoga Day Celebration

International Yoga Day is celebrated annually on June 21st as a global observance promoting well-being. This worldwide movement acknowledges the ancient Indian art of yoga and its profound effects on mental, physical, and spiritual well-being, transcending cultural and geographic boundaries.
The PG Department of Home Science celebrated International Yoga Day on June 21, 2024, to introduce students to the physical and mental benefits of yoga and encourage them to incorporate yoga into their daily lives. The event also aimed to cultivate awareness and appreciation of yoga as a pathway to achieving a balanced and healthy lifestyle among students.
The session was conducted by Lt. Loosiya KP, Assistant Professor Adhoc, who guided students through various yoga asanas such as Tadasana, Vriksasana, Trikonasana, Bhujangasana, Halasana, Vakrasana, etc. Additionally, students learned breathing techniques including Pranayama and Kapalabhati, emphasizing the role of yoga in stress reduction, improving flexibility, and enhancing overall mental and physical health. The session was held at the CH auditorium, where over 50 students from the 2nd Sem BSc FCS and the 2nd and 4th Sem MSc Home Science participated enthusiastically. Lt.
