ScholarSphere – Chapter 1: Orientation to Research Methodology & Review Article Writing

The PG Department of Computer Science, KAHM Unity Women’s College, Manjeri, organised ScholarSphere – Chapter 1: Orientation to Research Methodology & Review Article Writing on 21 January 2026 at 11:30 AM. The programme was conducted as part of a research booster initiative aimed at strengthening research aptitude and scholarly writing skills among postgraduate students.
The function began with an introductory note highlighting the objectives of the programme and the significance of research-oriented academic activities. The programme was formally inaugurated by Dr. Haris U, Head of the PG Department of Computer Science, who emphasized the importance of research methodology in higher education and encouraged students to engage in systematic and ethical research practices.
The academic session was led by Dr. Suneera CM, Assistant Professor, PG Department of Computer Science. She provided a comprehensive orientation on the fundamentals of research methodology and the importance of review article writing in academic research. The session covered key aspects such as identifying research problems, conducting effective literature surveys, structuring review articles, and adhering to ethical research and publication standards. She also highlighted how review articles help scholars critically analyse existing studies, identify research gaps, and contribute meaningfully to their discipline.
The programme was attended by MSc Computer Science students, who actively participated in the session and interacted with the resource person. The programme helped students gain clarity on the research process and enhanced their understanding of scholarly writing practices, thereby fostering a research-oriented academic mindset.
The programme was coordinated by Ms. Swapna K, Assistant Professor, PG Department of Computer Science (Staff Coordinator), and Ms. Murshida Sherin MC, Fourth Semester MSc Computer Science (Student Coordinator).
The programme concluded successfully, contributing significantly to the department’s efforts to promote research culture and academic excellence among students.
