Overview
The Department of Computer Science at KAHM Unity Women’s College, Manjeri was established in 1999–2000 with the introduction of the B.Sc. Computer Science programme and later expanded with the launch of the M.Sc. Computer Science programme. Since its inception, the department has been committed to providing quality education, fostering innovation and preparing students for careers in the rapidly evolving digital world.
The department offers a well-structured curriculum affiliated to the University of Calicut, supported by modern computer laboratories, smart classrooms and digital resources. A team of dedicated and qualified faculty members ensures a strong academic foundation, while also mentoring and guiding students in project development, professional growth and higher education opportunities.
Beyond academics, the department is known for its flagship initiatives such as the IoT Exhibition – Innovi8, seminars, hands-on workshops and industrial visits, which provide students with platforms to showcase their skills and connect with industry experts. The department also organizes add-on and certificate courses to enhance employability and cross-disciplinary learning.
To strengthen industry-academia collaboration, the department is actively pursuing MoUs with IT firms for industrial training, internships and real-time project opportunities. Many students have gone on to pursue higher studies in leading institutions and contribute to various sectors in technology and education.
The department regularly invites distinguished national and international speakers to deliver expert talks, ensuring that students stay updated with the latest trends in technology. Faculty members also encourage students to participate in coding competitions, innovation challenges and community-driven IT initiatives, cultivating both technical competence and social responsibility.
