Department of Computer Science

Overview

The Department of Computer Science is established in the academic year 1999-2000. Initially the department offered only B.Sc. Computer Science (Six Semesters) programme. The students enrolment in the fist B.Sc. Computer Science Batch was 14. Now the sanctioned strength is 36. Later in 2016, the department started M.Sc. Computer Science Programme (Four Semesters) and the sanctioned strength is 12.

The Department had several distinguished visitors, national and international, who gave talks in the Department. This year saw more than five IT experts visiting the Department to give talks and interact with faculty and students. The Department of Computer Science introduced Mentor Mentee System initially this year for Final Year B.Sc. Computer Science.

Faculty members of the Department were involved with organizing different software development orientation programs for second and third year B.Sc. Computer Science students.

And the following faculty members are in a rush to organise four National Level Seminars during the academic year 2022-23 as shown in the grid below:

The department is in the process of working out MoUs with different IT firms for industrial training and real time project works for our final year Computer Science students. The Department offers four Add-on courses exclusively for B.Sc. Computer Science students and five certificate courses for students from other disciplines too, during this academic year,2022-23,alone.
