Internship on Water Analysis in association with the Kerala Water Quality Control District Laboratory (QCDL), Thurakkal, Manjeri

The Department of Chemistry, KAHM Unity Women’s College, Manjeri, organized an internship on Water Analysis in association with the Kerala Water Quality Control District Laboratory (QCDL), Thurakkal, Manjeri, on 16.01.2026. The programme was arranged for the Fourth Semester FYUGP Degree students, with 46 students actively participating.The session was led by Mr. Sajeesh A. K., Quality Manager, Quality Control District Laboratory, Kerala Water Authority, Manjeri, along with his technical team. They provided detailed explanations and practical insights into various water analysis techniques, including physical, chemical, and microbiological parameters used to assess water quality.The experts emphasized the importance of water quality assessment in ensuring public health and environmental safety. They also highlighted the relevance of these analytical techniques in monitoring drinking water standards and regulatory compliance.In addition, the resource persons discussed career opportunities available for chemistry graduates in the field of water quality testing, environmental monitoring, and public health laboratories. The internship provided students with valuable exposure to real-time laboratory practices and enhanced their understanding of applied analytical chemistry.
