Attended a two-day National Workshop on Molecular Simulations

  • 05 Jan / 2026

The second-semester PG students of the Department of Chemistry, KAHM Unity Women’s College, attended a two-day National Workshop on Molecular Simulations held on January 5 and 6, 2026. Organized by the Post Graduate Department of Chemistry, Majlis Arts and Science College (Autonomous) in collaboration with IQAC as part of the centenary celebrations of quantum mechanics, the workshop aimed to connect theoretical chemistry with practical research applications. The first day, led by Dr. V. C. Saheer, focused on Computational Chemistry, offering hands-on training in molecular geometry construction, quantum calculations, and the visualization of MO diagrams and complex spectra. On the second day, Dr. Anuroopa G. Nadh introduced participants to Molecular Docking and drug-design tools, guiding them through 3D biomolecular structure handling, virtual screening, and drug–receptor interaction analysis for identifying potential lead molecules. Coordinated by Mr. Harimohan C. S., the workshop concluded with a valedictory session, providing students and faculty with essential skills and foundational software knowledge for contemporary chemical research.
