Extension Activity 2025-26 PG & Research Department of Chemistry Assessment of Quality Parameters of Water Samples from Narukara Village
The Innovation & Incubation Centre of the PG and Research Department of Chemistry, KAHM Unity Women’s College, Manjeri, organized an extension activity aimed at supporting the community by assessing the quality of the water they use. Water samples were collected from various locations in Narukara Village, including Veemboor, Pattarkulam, Alukkal, Mariyad, Koodakkara and Pullara. The analysis was carried out on 26 and 27 November 2025, focusing on key water quality parameters such as pH, total hardness, calcium hardness, magnesium hardness, fluoride, chloride, ammonium, residual chlorine, and nitrate. The activity was coordinated by Dr. Thasnim P (Teacher Coordinator) and Ms. Thabsheera (Student Coordinator), with the active participation of 32 students. The programme helped create awareness among the public about the importance of monitoring water quality and ensured practical learning experience for the students.
