The Department of Chemistry and its alumni association ALCHEM UNITY of KAHM Unity Women’s College, Manjeri organized an Honouring Ceremony for Ms. Shaniba P, a proud alumna of the department and winner of the India Book of Records and Asia Book of Records for the 'Grandmaster' title for defining 950 terms across various branches of chemistry in just 1 hour, on 3rd October 2025 at Aryabhata Hall.
The programme began with a silent prayer, followed by a welcome address by Dr. Jyothi P, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Chemistry. In his presidential address, Prof. (Dr.) Muhammed Basheer Ummathur, Principal of the college, highlighted the achievements of Ms. Shaniba and appreciated her remarkable accomplishments that brought pride to the institution.
As the highlight of the day, a memento was presented to Ms. Shaniba P as a token of appreciation and recognition. This was followed by felicitations from Dr. Usman A, Staff Club President, who congratulated Ms. Shaniba on her record-breaking achievements.
Ms. Shaniba then shared her experiences as a record holder, inspiring the audience with her journey of dedication and perseverance. This was followed by an interactive session with students, where she motivated them to set goals and strive towards excellence with determination.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Deepa K, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry, expressing gratitude to the dignitaries, participants, and alumni members for making the event memorable.
The event was a proud moment for the Department of Chemistry and ALCHEM UNITY, as it celebrated the success of one of its distinguished alumnae, motivating the current students to follow in her footsteps.
