WORLD OZONE DAY CELEBRATION

The Chemistry Association hosted a special programme on 18/09/2025 at Asima Chatterjee Hall to mark World Ozone Day, aiming to raise awareness about the crucial role of the ozone layer and the urgent need for its protection. This year’s initiative was inspired by the 2025 global theme, “From Science to Global Action,” emphasizing the transformation of scientific discovery into coordinated worldwide efforts to safeguard the environment. An interactive awareness session, featuring a video presentation, was conducted to inform students about the causes and consequences of ozone depletion, highlight global efforts—particularly the achievements of the Montreal Protocol—and discuss proactive steps. individuals can take. Immediately following, a quiz competition was organized to strengthen students’ understanding of environmental issues and the vital significance of ozone conservation. The event benefited from the energetic and dedicated management of Hamna, Jifna, and Naja of III Sem B Sc Chemistry ensured seamless programme execution and enthusiastic student participation. Their commitment fostered an engaging and dynamic environment for all attendees. Effective coordination by Dr. Deepa K (Teacher Coordinator) and Dilna CH (Association Secretary) was instrumental in the event’s success. Lively participation in the quiz competition demonstrated the students’ keen interest and growing awareness of sustainability, environmental protection, and the importance of the ozone layer.
