World Environment Day – Tree Plantation Drive

In celebration of World Environment Day 2025, the Department of Chemistry at KAHM Unity Women’s College, Manjeri organized a Tree Plantation Drive on the 5th of June at 10:00 AM. The event took place in front of the Chemistry Department and aimed to foster environmental awareness and promote green campus initiatives.
The plantation programme was a hands-on effort to emphasize the importance of afforestation in mitigating climate change and restoring ecological balance. Students and faculty members actively participated in planting a variety of saplings, contributing directly to the college’s eco-sustainability goals. Plantation was inaugurated by Dr. Jyothi P., Head of the Department, Department of Chemistry, KAHM Unity Women’s College, Manjeri. 
The programme was coordinated by Ms. Suhada KM, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry, and Ms. Hana Fathima, a fifth-semester BSc Chemistry student, who served as the Student Coordinator. Their combined efforts ensured smooth organization and enthusiastic student involvement.
The initiative not only contributed to the beautification of the campus but also acted as a practical step toward instilling eco-conscious values in the student community. It served as a reminder that small, collective actions can have a significant impact on the environment when consistently pursued.
The tree plantation drive was a resounding success, echoing this year’s World Environment Day theme and inspiring the students to remain committed to environmental stewardship.
