Alumni Interaction
The Department of Chemistry at KAHM Unity Women’s College, Manjeri, in association with Alchem Unity, hosted an alumni interaction on 27th August 2024, featuring Ms.Shaima TP, a BSc Chemistry alumna (2018-2021), who has secured a fully funded PhD position at the University of California, Riverside. The event, titled "PhD in USA: How Can We Achieve It as a First-Generation Student," aimed to guide and inspire first-generation students pursuing higher education abroad. Ms.Shaima shared her journey, covering the PhD application process, financial planning, cultural adjustments, and overcoming challenges like imposter syndrome. Coordinated by Dr.Jamsheena V and Ms.Ridha E, the session included an engaging Q&A, leaving students motivated and better prepared for their academic goals in the USA.
