Make Your Own Paper Bag
The Department of Chemistry conducted a hands-on DIY workshop titled;Make Your Own
Paper Bag; on July 8, 2024, in room G203 to celebrate International Plastic Bag Free Day.
The workshop, mediated by Ms. Omniya Umer and coordinated by Dr. Deepa, aimed to
promote sustainable practices and reduce plastic waste by teaching participants how to create
eco-friendly paper bags. The event attracted a diverse group of students and faculty members
who actively engaged in the creative process, learning about the environmental benefits of
using paper bags over plastic ones. The workshop not only provided practical skills but also
raised awareness about the importance of reducing plastic consumption. Participants
appreciated the interactive format and left with a sense of accomplishment and a better
understanding of how small actions can contribute to larger environmental goals. The
successful event concluded with expressions of gratitude to all attendees and organizers for
their enthusiastic participation and support.
