Alumni Lecture 3 - ‘The Pursuit of Happiness: Navigating through Academics, Career and Beyond’
The PG & Research Department of Botany organized an Alumni Lecture on 23 January 2026 with the objective of motivating students and providing guidance on academics and career development. The session was led by Ms. Aswani Das, an alumna of the 2013-2016 B.Sc. Botany batch, who served as the resource person. Ms. Aswani Das presented an insightful talk titled ‘The Pursuit of Happiness: Navigating through Academics, Career and Beyond’. During the session, she shared her personal experiences as a student of Unity College and reflected on how her academic journey shaped her professional growth. The resource person also delivered an elaborate and informative discussion on preparation strategies for various competitive examinations, offering practical tips and motivation to the students.
A total of 55 students participated in the programme. The session was highly interactive, with students actively engaging in discussions and clarifying their doubts regarding academics, career choices and competitive examinations. The enthusiastic participation of the students contributed significantly to the success of the event. The programme coordinated by Dr. Deepa P. and Ms. Fida A., student coordinator from the Fourth Semester M.Sc. Botany. Dr. Hussain K., Assistant Professor (Adhoc), formally introduced the resource person and extended a warm welcome to all participants. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Thabshera of the Second Semester M.Sc. Botany, expressing gratitude to the resource person, faculty members and students for their active involvement.
