The PG and Research Department of Botany conducted a Mushroom Cultivation Workshop for UG students on 18 November 2025. The workshop aimed to introduce students to the scientific principles and practical techniques involved in the cultivation of edible mushrooms. Dr. Usman A, Head of the Department of Botany explained the scientific methods of mushroom cultivation, highlighting the importance of maintaining hygiene, selecting suitable substrates, and ensuring proper environmental conditions. He also provided step-by-step instructions on spawn preparation, bag filling, incubation, and harvesting. All the participating students showed great enthusiasm and interest throughout the workshop. The workshop proved highly beneficial in enhancing their practical skills and motivating them to explore mushroom cultivation as a sustainable and profitable practice. The live demonstration helped students clearly understand the practical challenges and scientific care required for successful mushroom production.
