Field Study and Plant Collection Trip to Ooty and Wayanad
The MSc Botany students of the 2025–2027 batch conducted a two-day plant collection trip to Ooty and Wayanad on 6th and 7th October under the guidance of Ms. Sudheesha and Ms. Shifa. The purpose of the visit was to collect, identify, and document plant specimens from the diverse hill ecosystems. Students took an active role in locating species across varied habitats, recording field observations, and preparing samples for further study. The flora of both regions offered valuable insights into ecological variations and endemic species, enriching their practical understanding of taxonomy and field botany. The collected specimens will be preserved in the department herbarium and contribute to future research studies.
