Petal Fusion: Training Session on Floral Art
On 24th September 2025, PG and Research Department of Botany organized a creative and skill-enhancing training session on floral arrangement for Ist Semester B.Sc. Botany (Honours) students. The event titled ‘Petal Fusion’ designed to nurture aesthetic sense and practical skills in arranging flowers, thereby blending scientific knowledge of plants with artistic expression. During the session, students prepared their own bouquets by skilfully using different types of flowers. They arranged focal flowers, fillers and foliages in a balanced manner, following the instructions provided. The activity encouraged to understand the principles of design, colour combination and the importance of harmony in floral art. It also fostered creativity, patience and team spirit among the participants. The workshop well-received by the students who enthusiastically showcased their talents through unique floral arrangements. The event coordinated by Dr. Deepa P. and Ms. Yusra C.K., whose efforts ensured the smooth conduct of the program. ‘Petal Fusion’ not only provided hands-on experience in floral arrangement but also highlighted the significance of integrating botanical knowledge with aesthetic appreciation, making the session both educational and enjoyable.
