PG & Research Department of Botany celebrated Fresher’s Day on 18th August 2025 to extend a warm welcome to the newly admitted students of the First Semester B.Sc. Botany (Honours). The event entirely coordinated and conducted by Third Semester B.Sc. Botany (Honours) students, who enthusiastically came forward to make the occasion memorable for their juniors. The programme commenced with an energetic and heartfelt welcome address by Ms. Fathima, the class representative of the Third Semester. Her words set the tone for the day, creating a positive and inviting atmosphere for the newcomers.
The session further enriched by the esteemed presence of the faculty members - Dr. Faseela P., Dr. Deepa P., Dr. Nushiba Nazer P.T. and Ms. Sudheesha K. Each of them addressed the gathering and extended their felicitations, inspiring the freshers to begin the academic journey with confidence, curiosity and enthusiasm. Their words emphasized the importance of academic excellence, discipline, and active participation in departmental activities. One of the highlights of the day was the set of fun-filled games and interactive activities organized by the senior students. These activities not only entertained but also served as an ice-breaking platform, helping the newcomers build camaraderie and feel a sense of belonging within the department. The lively participation from both junior and senior students created an environment of joy and togetherness, strengthening the bond between the UG batches. The cultural and interactive sessions followed by lunch which provided a relaxed setting for informal interactions and cordial conversations among students. The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Fahma, Third Semester B.Sc. Botany (Honours), who expressed gratitude to the faculties and students for making the programme a grand success.
