PTA Meeting for the Second, Fourth and Sixth Semester BSc Botany Students: 

The PG Department of Botany, KAHM Unity Women’s College, Manjeri, conducted a Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) meeting for the second, fourth, and sixth semester BSc Botany students on 6th February 2025 at 2 PM in the respective classrooms. The meeting, facilitated by class tutors Dr. Faseela P, Ms. Nazmin Banu, and Dr. Deepa P, witnessed active participation from 38, 28, and 12 parents from the respective classes. The primary agenda of the meeting included discussions on students' academic progress, career prospects, and preparation for upcoming examinations. The session began with a warm welcome by the class tutors, followed by a detailed review of students’ academic performance and their growth in previous semesters.  

Dr. Usman A., Head of the Department, addressed parental queries, providing insights into exam preparations and career opportunities for the students. Faculty members Ms. Sudheesha K. and Ms. Nushiba Nazer also contributed to the discussions, engaging with parents on students’ academic and personal backgrounds. Dr. Hikmathulla V and Ms. Arifa, Assistant Professors from the Department of Malayalam, also attended the PTA meeting of the first-year BSc Botany students, contributing to the discussions.

A significant concern raised during the meeting was the excessive use of mobile phones by students both inside and outside the campus. Parents collectively requested the faculty to collect mobile phones during college hours to curb distractions. Acknowledging this concern, the department council decided to implement a policy to collect students' phones during working hours. The session concluded on a constructive note, with parents appreciating the department’s dedication to students' academic and career development.
