Research Department Inspection – Department of Botany, KAHM Unity Women’s College, Manjeri 

The Department of Botany, KAHM Unity Women’s College, Manjeri, underwent a Research Department Inspection by the University of Calicut on 28th January 2025 at 1:30 PM. The inspection team included Prof. Rajeev S Menon (Professor, Department of Chemistry, University of Calicut), Prof. John E Thoppil (Professor, Department of Botany, University of Calicut) and Mr. TJ Martin (Syndicate Member, University of Calicut). They were received by the college team, led by Principal Prof. Muhammed Basheer Ummathur, Manager Er. O Abdul Ali, and HOD Dr. Usman A, along with faculty members and students. The team visited various departmental facilities, including UG and PG classrooms, UG and PG main laboratories, the biochemistry lab, tissue culture lab, botanical museum, herbarium, research scholar's room, and the department and college library, assessing the infrastructure and academic environment.  
As part of the evaluation, Dr. Usman A, HOD, Department of Botany presented a detailed report on the department’s academic and research achievements, emphasizing key extension activities and contributions to plant sciences. The team engaged with faculty and students to gain insights into ongoing research initiatives, assessing the department’s capabilities in fostering scientific inquiry and innovation. The visit highlighted the department’s strengths in research and education, while also offering valuable recommendations for future growth and development.
